This marble pedestal's composition follows a classical vocabulary: an octagonal base rising into a profiled plinth, a spirally twisted shaft, and a restrained capital supporting a rectangular slab. The torsion of the column introduces movement into an otherwise architectural form, creating a subtle tension between weight and ascent. Intended to support a bust or floral arrangement, the piece embodies the ceremonial function of display.
