The piano bench is a typology rarely revisited within collectible design. Rooted in function yet carrying the cultural weight of the instrument it accompanies, it evokes the disciplined rituals and delicate sensibilities of an earlier era. Here, the steel frame is dressed in hand-stitched wool by Kvadrat, tailored with precision rather than conventionally upholstered. The textile is composed of structured panels that both soften and articulate the form, while quilting ensures comfort suited to performance. The result is poised and composed: a functional object that quietly recalls the refinement of the old world.
