Color Space (2024) is a large-scale textile work in reactive dye and digital print on silk. Tronhjem Rømer, the duo of Trine Tronhjem and Liv Marie Rømer, grounds their practice in the craft of textile printing, using colour, material, and light to create atmospheric and sensory experiences, driven by the conviction that textiles carry spatial potential. In Color Space, this spatial ambition reaches an architectural scale, with a height of 5.5 metres. The work does not hang as a surface but occupies a room. The duo works between the analogue and the digital, treating colour reflection, the additive and subtractive colour systems, and the phenomenon of light as their primary material concerns. Silk renders the reactive dye with a luminosity that shifts with movement and changing light. The colour never quite settles; the space is never quite fixed.
