The Lumi series (2026) by Tronhjem Rømer is a serie of unique wall-mounted light works in powder-coated steel, colour reflectors and LED, signed and dated by the artists. The restrained vertical forms is activated by reflected light, producing a soft transition from one tone to the other. The Lumi works are part of Tronhjem Rømer’s investigation into colour as both material and immaterial presence. When unlit, colour resides in the powder-coated metal itself; when illuminated, reflected light creates tonal shifts that no single pigment could produce. In Lumi, colour is therefore not fixed to the object but extends into the surrounding space, changing with light, distance and the viewer’s position. The result is both precise and atmospheric: a functional light object that treats illumination as a spatial material, drawing the eye through the room and subtly altering how its architecture is perceived.
